Dedicated to an easy shopping experience and tailored resources for some of our most popular product categories, including casters, pallet racking, wire cages and partitions, and heavy duty cabinet storage.
With a vision of being the preferred partner for material handling solutions, Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry seeks to be the ideal distribution partner for suppliers as well. To that end, Conveyer & Caster believes that honesty, respect, and clear communication are critical to vendor relationships.
The company was founded in 1961 around the corner from their current location on Detroit Avenue by Albert T. Stohr, Sr. Upon his sudden death in 1964, Albert T Stohr, Jr. took over the leadership of the organization at the age of 23. In 1979, after almost two decades of growth, Conveyer & Caster acquired Rowe Bumpers and created the Rowe Bumper Division of Conveyer & Caster.
Albert welcomed his two sons into the company after they gained work experience outside the family business. Jeff joined the company in 1989 after working in technical sales for Parker Hannifin and Trevor followed in 1992 after working as a sales and marketing representative for Shell Oil.
Conveyer & Caster became Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry in 2006 following a merger with another long-time, Cleveland-based, material handling distributor Equipment for Industry, Inc. in 2006. Equipment for Industry, Inc., founded in 1955, served customers in Ohio and western Pennsylvania with general lines of material handling products like shelving, pallet racking, mezzanines, and in plant offices. Rick Andrews, formerly the President of Equipment for Industry, continues to serve Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry as Vice President of Technical Sales.
Advanced Belting & Conveyor Co. was acquired in 2007, adding capacity for turn-key conveyor solutions, belt fabrication, and installation, service, and repair of conveying equipment. John Fitzgerald, founder and former President of Advanced Belting & Conveyor, Co. is currently Service Manager of Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry.
Anderson Wood & Metal Works, Inc., of Erie, Pennsylvania was acquired in 2008. Founded in 1986 by Jim and Sandy Anderson, Anderson Wood & Metal served their customers by providing custom fabricated equipment and specialized lifting solutions.
Storage Systems Co. of Cincinnati was acquired in 2013. Founded by Bill Judd in 1969, Storage Systems specialized in complex storage solutions, auto dealership shelving and cabinetry, and mezzanine systems. Bill Judd continues to serve Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry as a major account manager in the Cincinnati market.
Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry continues to grow through sales in current markets, expansion in to new territory, and acquisition of allied businesses.
